New Orleans Rapper Dee-1 on Feeding your Dark Side, and Selling your Soul for Fame [Video Interview]

Dee- 1 is a rapper from New Orleans on a mission. He’s best known or his hit song “Sallie Mae Back” encouraging the youth to explore financial literacy.

He sat with us for an interview and opened up about a lot of things going on in his life. He recently got out of his label deal with RCA Records, and put out a new single “I Know God”. One particular topic that we enjoyed was his approach to acknowledging and controlling your dark side. Everyone has a part of themselves that needs work. Growing is all about facing and overcoming the obstacles placed on you by yourself and others. Dee- 1 definitely went in detail about his thoughts on the topic, and we just had to share it!
