Denisia is one of our favorite R&B/Bounce singers from New Orleans. We’ve been a fan of her since she laid down those amazing vocals on her Hello bounce remix with Big Choo. In just two years, that video has received over 2 million views on YouTube.
New Orleans is a thriving hub for art, especially music. We love to see native artists emerge and thrive in a culture that is world renown.
Last week, we caught up with Denisia to talk about a few things about her career. We pride ourselves in keeping up with New Orleans music and culture, so we felt that it was only right to interview her. Hear what she had to say about her influences and what she has planned for the future below!
Newtral Groundz: So for the readers who haven’t heard of you, how long have you been making music?
Denisia: I’ve been making music since 2007 lol geesh such a long time.
Who did you look up to in the music industry growing up?
Denisia: Brandy!!! Moesha lol ! Whitney Houston, Usher & of course Beyonce.
We love watching The Morning Beat with Hasizzle on your Instagram page. How did you come up with the idea?
Denisia: It was something I did for fun with another artist a long time ago but I wanted to be consistent and make it my own thing so I created “The Morning Beat” to feature artists from my city. Hasizzle became a fan favorite quickly but you will see a lot of new artists in the coming months.
Are there any other local artists that you want to work with?
Denisia: Tons lol! But I have upcoming features with PNC, Dj Jubilee, and Pj Morton just to name a few.
Should your fans be expecting a new studio project from you soon?
Denisia: Yes! Yes! Of course ! I will be releasing my new Ep in September. We are still deciding on the title right now, but I’m super proud of the new records I have in production. I will also be releasing The Morning Beat Mixtape this August so I am really excited!
Yesterday she released a new visual for her song NEWAY. This visual was directed by Black Dragon Imagery, and features Denisia in many settings, grinding, and growing her career. We understand the work that’s required to build an organic fan base, and see how hard she has worked to maintain her brand/image. We think that she is an AMAZING artist, and has the potential for a promising career! Check out the video, and let us know what you think in the comments below!
