Chef Derek Robinson Jr. aka Mad Chef is a young entrepreneur from New Orleans with big goals and a work ethic to match.

We feel that there are a large amount of untold stories in our city. Our new interview series seeks to uncover those stories and bring them to the masses. In this interview we talk to Chef Derek Robinson at his restaurant Mad Chef at 59th located at Miracle Plaza in New Orleans East. After learning the culinary arts at Nunez and leveraging priceless information from legendary entrepreneurs like Jesseca Dupart, and Raynell “Supa” Steward; Derek starting building his culinary empire.

He sat down with us for an interview detailing his journey, transitioning from New Orleans street life, and more in this inspirational interview.
