Negus is a rapper from the 7th ward with something to prove. He is known for his abstract flow and original sound. We recently named his album After Our$ After Hour$ as our number #1 pick for New Orleans hip hop projects in 2017 so far.
Negus has been on the New Orleans music scene for about six years now. He has grown into a well developed artist who well feel should be getting calls in the near future. He also recently began collaborating with the grammy award winning producer/rapper Chase N. Cashe. Chase N. Cashe is a seasoned artist who’s worked with many big names in the music industry. They met at a local show in New Orleans and have been tight ever since. They have released a project We Never Close, and have been featuring on each others independent projects.
Negus is also working on a new project entitled 1 of None. We think he will release this project in the beginning of the fall.
In this video, Anthony Anderson opens up with a shout out highlighting Negus’ brand, Can’t Go Broke. The video follows Negus around the 7th ward as he visits his childhood barbershop, accompanied by quality performance scenes in his home ward. We are starting to see a surge of talent rising in New Orleans and Negus is one of our favorites! The visual is Directed by Dr. Clipz and compliments the song really well.
He also recently released the trailer for his next video with Teezy Baby, for their track On Fire.
